Along side our wonderfully accomplished host Mary Murphy, we are also excited to have these talented, and inspirational guest appearances!

Here are just a few of our skilled guests that are on board for musical, artistic, and entertainment appearances on our Take Me Away TV Series.

Will Millar (founder of the Irish Rovers)

http://willmillar.ca/

Founder of the much loved Irish Rovers, this Grammy nominated musician created an award winning CBC television series that ran for seven years, with acclaimed guests such as The Clancy brothers, Sheri Lewis (lamb chops) and Glen Campbell. Will Millar is also a highly reguarded painter showing in galleries in Canada and Ireland. In truth, his unique style owes much to the fact that his art college was in the Irish countryside. Never at a loss for words or lighthearted frivolity, Will’s appearance on Take me Away will be delightful.

David Francey

Three time Juno award winner David Francey will bring his soulful Scottish brogue to the Take Me Away TV series. Born in Ayrshire, Scotland, his inspired writing style and ability to reach the hearts of his listening audience is something to be praised and admired. He exudes the warmth of a hearth fire on a cold night, and we are overjoyed to have on board, “…one of Canada’s most revered folk poets and singers.” (Toronto Star)

More talented guests will be announced shortly

Sue Pyper

Born and raised in England, Sue graduated from Art and Design College in London and worked as production manager for advertising agencies in West End and later in magazine production. She opened up a graphic design business upon her arrival to Canada in 2000. Sue’s playful imagination and versatile expression visit themes of natural beauty, revealing the wonderful details of seemingly simple subjects. Using pen and ink and watercoulour, she creates detailed animal and nature paintings and highly stylized abstract works. Sue will be giving a demonstration of these talents in the Take Me Away Series.

Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Daniel Devion has lived in Edmonton, Alberta and has visited and made many friends in many of the cities and towns of Canada. Currently a Torontonian, DAN THE MUSIC MAN is an original. A songwriter and entertainer whose enthusiastic performances have made him a favourite of family audiences all over his native Canada, the United States and as far away as Seoul, South Korea. Dan the Music Man has released four albums to date. Make a Bridge, his debut album for young audiences, was released to critical acclaim in 1998.

The Safety Neighbourhood project was important to Dan as it is music that encourages children to play it safe. "This album was a labour of love," said Dan, "I love the idea that children can learn things from this record that could actually save their lives. If even one child avoids harm because of something learned from Safety Neighbourhood, I'll consider it an immeasurable success."

Dan will be inspiring children to "Play it Safe," by performing as a guest on the Take me Away series from his Safety Neighbourhood album.
